I love the ones that show you where people are coming from all over the world. The best is when I see certain obscure cities pop up and I know exactly who it is from that city that is reading my blog. Makes me feel like my far-away friends and family are even closer.

Dish you would bring to our community picnic:
Carmel Apple Cheesecake Bars. Although they might all get eaten in the car on the way to the picnic.

On Blogging:

What got you blogging and what keeps you going?
I started blogging as a way to keep in touch with family and friends that live far away. Now it’s more of an online scrapbook/journal of our lives.

One post that makes you laugh?
The one about my children creating major chaos and of course my husband was out of town. It really was like a scene from a slapstick-family-comedy movie.

One post you are really proud of, for whatever reason?
The one about the day I found out I had a large brain tumor and needed major brain surgery. I wrote it while the news was still fresh and didn’t do any editing and it turned out just like it should have.

How have you seen your blog/blogging style change and how would you like to see it
develop?

I used to think that I needed to blog everything about our lives. And then, after
my daughter with Down syndrome was born, I felt like I really needed to be an advocacy
blogger and have everything on my blog be about Down syndrome. Now, I just write
when I want to write about whatever I want to write about—Down syndrome, my family,
craft projects, being a mom…just whatever. Over time, I want it to portray a full picture
of our lives; the good, the bad, the funny, the drama…a complete smattering. It’s getting
there, but a lot of times I don’t write about things in our lives simply because I run out of time. Right now, when someone in the future reads about our lives they might think that all we do is hang out in hospitals or celebrate holidays.

Where else can we find you online?

Just the blog, Facebook, and Pinterest http://pinterest.com/lifeasweknowit/
